Sweet Indulgence

For many years one thing does not change about me and that is the love for SWEETS! :D
(That is also one of the reason why I'm still very chubby at the age of 18.)
A woman's greatest dream is to never get a pound heavier even if she pigs out with her food indulgence.
Unfortunately I'm not blessed with an amazing metabolism. Life is unfair! T_T   I shall deal with it! :P

There are many sweets that make my taste buds tingle.
and here are the following.

Nelusko Cake.

This cake is very memorable for me, since Nelusko Cake is the cake that I never get tired of eating when it is served. Every time this cake is served for sure diet is not an option. ;)
I always make sure that this cake is served at home during special occasions like MY Birthday, Christmas and New Year. It's a good thing my sister is sort of neutral when it comes to sweets so we don't argue that much on what dessert is on the table. We probably argue most of the time how much sweets have I stuck in my mouth.

Next would be, Black Sambo

I like Black Sambo because of its jelly-like structure and how you can eat the dessert so easily that it's like melting in your mouth.
Every time I eat this sweet by myself I close my eyes and imagine like I'm in  a dimension where sweets like this are unlimited and FREE.
I was so happy when my mom was able to figure out how to make this dessert and now I can't wait to try making this myself.

Next Sweet would be, Blueberry Cheesecake

This cake is so wonderful and so heavenly.
I mean I love foods that is a contrast of sweet and sour and this dessert is the perfect fit for that sort of description.
When I eat Blueberry Cheesecake I feel I'm in cloud nine. Such a Heavenly piece of work. Even the picture is appetizing.

Next is the Cookies and Cream ICE CREAM!

GOD Knows how I love ice creams and the favorite flavor would be the cookies and cream.
I love this food because I like creamy things and I love cookies.
This Ice Cream has it all. Perfect Combination and Good Formula of Love-Making.
I could never ask for more for this dessert.

The Last but certainly not the least SWEET INDULGENCE that I have and will always have is
the OREO AND MILK.

I love cookies and I love Oreo's above all else. I mean seriously I love their Ad about
Twist Lick Dunk. Goodness this tagline always buzz in my head when I eat Oreo.
This is my childhood sweets and this is one food that I would never turn my back on.
So I shall Kudos to the manufacturer of Oreo. You certainly made my childhood the SWEETEST experience because of this snack. I'll FOREVER LOVE Oreo! Mwah!

Maybe someday when I have my own flat and have awesome kitchen equipment I hope I can share this food  with them since these sweets are very meaningful to me and while composing this blog I imagine myself making ( if possible ) and sharing these desserts to my love ones most particularly a boyfriend in mind.
I hope he can read this without me telling him (whoever you might be future boyfriend ) So that he will be able to get some of the things I love the most. :D
We can call it sneak previews.

I guess that is all for now.
Ciao.

Sinulog Festival 2013

January 20, 2013 Was "The Day" in Cebu City.
People from different regions of the country come to visit Cebu to celebrate the Sinulog Festival or the Feast of the Child Jesus "Sto. Nino".
This event happens every year and I wanted to add this post in my blog that has been long gone neglected, because for the three years that I have been studying here in Cebu, It never came across mind to go out of the streets and Party with the busy crowd. However this year was an exemption due to the visitors that I had from a sister organization in Manila the Rotaract Club DLSU-M (De La Salle University Manila). They came here in Cebu for the reason to renew the "Sisterhood Agreement" between Rotaract Club of Cebu Fuente- USC (University of San Carlos) School-Based and Rotaract Club DLSU-M and also to enjoy the party that Sinulog Festival has to offer.
These visitors of mine arrived in Cebu last January 18, 2013, the first thing we did was to proceed with the initial plan of giving them the University tour in USC-TC or Talamban Campus but before heading for the tour we ate at the famous Silogan in town the "Silogan ni Gian".

After Eating our late breakfast we headed to give them the University tour. Since the Talamban Campus is somewhat a Campus from a mountain it was very entertaining for us to see our city friends climb the uphill of our school without the use of the university shuttle. And even some of my friends from RACCF-USC had their first time of climbing the uphills of the school even after studying at the university for more than 3-4 years. Here is a picture of the journey uphill and the finish line picture when we finished the tour.

Since our visitors left their luggage at the inn they booked in the internet we headed back to where they left them and since the place was not satisfactory to our visitors so we ended up doing a Hotel Hunt so that they have some place to stay up until January 20, 2013. With all the hard effort we finally found a very good place to stay in to and with a good location at that. The Quest Hotel was just right across Ayala Mall and transportation was so accessible that we got proud of ourselves of finding a good booking in this hotel they only paid 6,600 pesos for 2 days with a luxurious looking room, it was indeed a good bargain.
here is a picture inside the room with us in it. :D

After the search, we went our separate ways and let our visitors have a few hours of sleep to be comfortable and decided to meet up again for Dinner at AA's BBQ a famous barbecue and grill house in Cebu. After we had Dinner we went straight to the signing of the Sisterhood Agreement Memorandum at the lobby of the Quest hotel. When all papers were signed all of us headed out to go some partying in the famous partying place in Cebu IT Park, Lahug and went to one of their bars which was Figola. So much partying and drinking was done this night that almost all of us went home intoxicated. It was just the start of the Sinulog weekend and I was already having a blast.

The Next Day January 19, 2013 "The Procession"
In every religious festival it is always accompanied by a prayer procession before the festival itself. The Sinulog procession is also one of the pre-highlights of the festival, and the gang decided to make sure that we attended the procession before we go to any of the parties that the city has to offer. The motto that says  "NO PROCESSION, NO PARTY!" it was a fun-filled afternoon enjoying the people getting together and pray and of course to some of us who just went along and took some pictures to capture the moment.
here is one picture of the procession.

Right after the procession everyone got hungry and decide to eat at the famous restaurant in Cebu, the "Casa Verde" this restaurant is famous with their Bryan Ribs that is good for 2 for only at a price of 208 pesos. I don't have the picture of the ribs but the highlight of this blog was the experience anyway so if you plan to visit the metropolis of Cebu don't forget to drop by Casa Verde, you won't regret it. I give you my word.
here is a photo in Casa Verde- Ayala.

Finally "The Day" has come and it was January 20, 2013
This day was the most awaited part of the festival, the festival itself. There are two parts of the festival that people could enjoy, it is only up to you as to which of the two would you prefer to enjoy. First was the street dance showcasing the different traditional dance in the Philippines represented by different parts of the region in the hope of winning different awards from the festival competition. and the Second was the party at baseline. Since all of us were youngsters and are into partying we opted to take the 2nd option and went to the wet, and wild party at Baseline. Where beers and different types of booze are being showered all over the place and people wiping face paint on your shirts and faces. It was indeed a crazy party. I certainly enjoyed this part of the weekend.
Here is a photo of the Baseline Party for you to get an idea how crazy, wet, and wild this party is every year.

So this is it folks for you to be able to experience this much fun do visit the city of Cebu on sinulog festival that happens every 3rd Sunday of January.
I had so much fun and this is an event that I wouldn't wish to forget.

Visitor's names: Jovic, Aaron, Edwar, and Al (L-R) respectively. :)

Pit Senyor! Viva Senyor Sto. Nino. :)
